CDNN is an excellent resource for shipwreck fanatics and wreck divers. A couple of weeks ago, they published a fascinating article about the planned world record dive to the USS Cooper to honor those who died during the Battle of Ormoc in the Philipines during WWII. The USS Cooper sank with great loss of life after it was hit by a torpedo. According to CDNN, at the end of May 2005 divers are going to risk their own lives to place a memorial plaque on the wreck on behalf of the 191 crew, including my father, who went down with the ship.
