This restoration hardware store (in San Diego) has a very good, concise description of the various design periods since the 1890's. Many of the items sold here would be good for a type collection or in doing period reconstruction.


Design Periods
Historical archaeology is being done at the Old Mission State Park in Idaho. It was a Jesuit mission (Sacred Heart) and was built between 1848 and 1853 for the people of the Coeur d'Alene tribe.
